Bruce Mowat is a musician from Canada, who has been playing guitar and writing music since his mid teens. He grew up in Southern Ontario, then travelled to Alberta, after finishing high school, where he worked at a brewery for 2 years. He then attended university at the U of Alberta and the U of Calgary.
After university, he started playing live clubs and bars across Canada. When he headed back to Ontario after his university days, he recorded his first CD of original material called "Almost Listening". It was recorded at Grant Ave. Studio in Hamilton. The CD took approximately 3 1/2 years to complete. Bruce financed the project himself, thus why it took 3 1/2 years. The CD " Almost Listening " is a mixture of many different styles of music.To categorize it, it could probably be Canadian folk rock with a hint of Celtic influence. ( Must be his Scottish background ).
In the year 2001, being in his thirties and after 3 1/2 years of recording Bruce released his first CD. According to those who have already heard it, it was well worth the wait. He is presently working on an independant movie screenplay and on his next CD due for release around the summer of 2008.
